Each round has its own page with local areas, dates and results. The British wedding awards and the Irish wedding awards run on one calendar with the Italian wedding awards, the Australian wedding awards and every other round, so results land in the same months wherever you work.

Local entries are scored as they arrive, so entering early gets you a local result sooner. Every country round shares the same closing date, and each country page lists its own local areas once boundaries are set.

How do local, country and global rounds connect?

Your entry starts in one local area, the top scorers move up to their country round, and country winners can opt in to the Global Final.

    You compete with businesses in your area and category. Local results come about 6 weeks after entry.

    Country winners opt in for €39 and meet winners from every other country in an international final.

Peer portfolio marks keep the geography fair: you rate five anonymised portfolios from other countries, never your local rivals, and the median mark is used; the highest and lowest are dropped before the median counts. That way a Dublin photographer is never marked by a rival from Cork.

Destination areas

Are destination wedding areas awarded separately?

Yes. Destination areas are full award areas inside their country, so a Tuscany venue competes with Tuscany venues before facing the rest of Italy.

When do the 2027 country rounds close for entries?

All ten rounds close on one date, from the Cyprus wedding awards to the USA. Example local areas show where your entry would sit.

Which country and area should your business enter?

Enter the area where most of your weddings take place; your country round follows from that choice.

  • i.Home base, weddings abroad. Couples searching Italy see a UK planner who runs most weddings in Tuscany when that planner enters the Tuscany area.
  • ii.Working in two countries. Businesses active in two countries can enter both, each as a separate full entry (€49).
  • iii.Suppliers who travel. Bands, DJs and videographers pick one home area. Client reviews from weddings anywhere still count towards the 45 review points.

How do wedding awards by country work at Verified Wedding Awards?

Verified Wedding Awards runs its country awards in three steps: local area, country round and an opt-in Global Final. Every entry is scored out of 100 on photos and video, client reviews and professional standards, with an optional couples' feedback bonus. Scores are published with every result.

Can I enter if my country has no country round yet?

Yes, wedding businesses in any country can enter the Verified Wedding Awards Local round now. A country round opens once that country reaches 10 entries. Until then you receive your local result and written scorecard as usual. The fee is the same €49 for a first category.

Are Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland separate rounds?

Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and London are regional results inside the Verified Wedding Awards UK round. Entries are ranked in their region and then across the UK. One entry fee covers both, and couples searching Scotland or London can then find regional winners.

Who judges the entries from my country?

Verified Wedding Awards has no judging panel; entries are scored on evidence. The 20-point portfolio review is done by peers in your category from other countries, so local competitors never mark your work. The highest and lowest marks are dropped and the median counts.

When do country round entries close for the 2027 Awards?

Country round entries for the 2027 Verified Wedding Awards close on 30 April 2027, with country results in June 2027. Local results are announced monthly from January 2027, about 6 weeks after you enter. Entering early gives you a local result sooner.

Do destination areas like Santorini count as their own award area?

Yes, Verified Wedding Awards treats destination areas such as Santorini, Mykonos and Lake Como as full award areas within their country round. A Mykonos venue is first ranked against Mykonos venues, then against the whole of Greece. The same applies to Tuscany, Mallorca and the Algarve.
