Which venue style suits your wedding?

Venue style shapes your guest count, season and budget; each card below explains what to look for before you shortlist.

i.

Micro wedding venues

The best micro wedding venues make a small guest list feel full: ask for a private room, a low minimum spend and a menu priced per head.

ii.

Winter and autumn venues

The best winter wedding venues and best autumn wedding venues offer warm indoor ceremony space, good evening lighting and a wet-weather plan.

Before you book

What should you check before booking a venue?

Check six quick facts in writing before you pay a deposit, because they decide whether your day runs as planned.

  • Capacity: seated and evening numbers, plus a floor plan drawn for your guest count.
  • Accommodation: rooms held for your guests, the minimum nights and the check-out time.
  • Curfew or late licence: the time the music stops and the time the bar closes.
  • Exclusive use: whether other events or guests share the venue on your date.
  • Ceremony licence: whether a legal ceremony can take place on site, indoors and outdoors.
  • Accessibility: step-free routes, accessible toilets, parking and transfers for every guest.

FAQs

Wedding venue questions, answered

Short answers on how venues are ranked, whether a place can be bought, when winners appear and how far ahead to book a venue.

How are the best wedding venues on this page chosen?

Verified Wedding Awards ranks wedding venues by Verified Score out of 100, not by opinion or payment for position. The score combines photos and video (35 pts), client reviews (45 pts) and professional standards (20 pts), plus an optional couples' feedback bonus of up to 15 pts. Every score is published.

Can a venue pay to appear higher in this list?

No venue can buy a higher position in the Verified Wedding Awards lists; the entry fee pays for scoring, not for a result. Rank comes only from the Verified Score, and a venue scoring under 65 receives a written scorecard rather than a listing.

How do we find the best fall wedding venues?

The best fall wedding venues pair indoor space with outdoor settings that suit cooler evenings. Ask about heating, sunset time on your date and the wet-weather plan, then compare Verified Scores in the country guide for where you are marrying.

When will winners appear on this page?

Wedding venue winners from the Verified Wedding Awards appear here once Local results are published, monthly from January 2027. Until then the ranked list shows placeholders, and no venue is named before it has been scored.

Are destination venues scored the same way?

Destination wedding venues are scored on the same 100-point Verified Score as venues at home. Peer reviewers always score portfolios from other countries, so a venue in Bali and a venue in Ireland are judged on the same rubric.

How far ahead should we book a wedding venue?

Most couples book a wedding venue 12–18 months ahead, and popular venues and summer weekends can fill sooner. Midweek and off-season dates usually offer more choice at shorter notice, so stay flexible on the day if you are booking late.
